Here are some pictures of my trip to Japan and Hong Kong. It makes me sad to think that its all over now. My favorite place was Shimokitazawa outside of Tokyo. I'd do anything to get the heck out of the here move there. You can see the rest of my photos here: www.flickr.com/kzero.
Other than two weeks on my trip, life is having its downs right now. My boyfriend bailed on me a few weeks before our trip... so that was great. Its crazy how people can change so fast... or are they slowly changing and we never see it coming until is over? Anyways, I believe everything happens for a reason, so I should just be happy things ended up this way.

Here's one of the vases I made in my first glass blowing class. I basically tried to make something Sugahara-like...

Yesterday, I spoke with this lady who owns one of my new favorite stores in Austin about Japan. She visited a few years ago. Its awesome to speak with someone that just excited as you are about traveling to Japan. She recommended a few places to see - Tokyu Hands, Fabric Town, Daiso, Loft... just to name a few. I already know we love the same things. She imports a lot of her things in the shop from Japan. I made a note to stop by Sugahara Glassworks in Tokyo. They have beautiful hand-blown vases -->

I can't wait! She wants me to come back tell her about my travels. I'm sort of thinking about making a zine/travel guide of my trip over there. It will probably be mostly pictures and little tips. It would be cool to sell it in her store, or Domy books.
We'll see :>
By the way... Google maps is a lovely thing. I always create a map and pin point places I want to see for my trips. It makes life so much easier.
If anyone has been to Japan before, please recommend your favorite places! I'd love to add them to my itinerary.

Hellllo LJ.
Here are some pictures from last week. I went to Corpus Christi for work.. I wish I could have stayed longer, but this gives me a reason to go back. I really want to check out Rock Port, I hear its nice.

OK guys. I bought a scooter a couple of weeks ago. I'M SO EXCITED. I'm going to start to ride it to work on Monday.. I finally got everything squared away with my insurance. I have no clue why I didn't buy one earlier. Today is Museum Day, so I'm going to scoot to all my favorite museums free of admission! Go see what's in your town!

AND.. this week, I'm buying my to ticket to JAPAN!

Real hardwood flooring is the best thing I have ever shopped for... other than mid-century furniture.

I've been zoning everyone out lately. I'll just be saying "yeah" and "uh huh" to whoever is talking to me and then I realize I have no clue what they just said. I think I've always done this, but its happening more and more. Whatever is going on in my head is a lot louder I guess.
I'm going to make a promise to myself to start watercoloring again this week. I want to make a big print for my new office I moved into last week. No more cubicles!

I've been on this mid-century furniture kick for a while. The other weekend I went over to a lady's house to see her sale. Her home was so inspiring. All of her furniture was mid-century. It looked like the set of Don Draper's house. She gave me a lot of helpful tips on where I can find good deals on that type of furniture. I ended up buying a chair from her. It's really comfortable, low to the ground and angled. Pepper can't seem to stay off of it.
I signed some paperwork for my first home the other day. I can't describe how excited I am. Its super close to downtown and in a new community that's still growing. A few blocks away, they're building the most eco-friendly HEB grocery designed by Lake Flato Architects!
This weekend, I'm going to my hometown to help my parents move. They also just bought a new house a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to miss my old house so much. Oh well... things are looking up!
